Think of SEO as like cooking a meal. Keywords and keyphrases are your
ingredients. Authority relates to the link profile of any site. But not just the number of links. That bears little importance. Google Trends tells you how searches in a subject change over time. You can use it to predict spikes and slumps as well as to know when you should update and change pages for the season or switch to using different keywords. You can look at and compare several different terms at a time Seed keywords are the foundation of your keyword research. They define your niche and help you identify your competitors.
It’s a win-win strategy with an emphasis on gateway sites
All sites have a home or "root" page, which is usually the most
frequented page on the site and the starting place of navigation for
many visitors. Unless your site has only a handful of pages, you
should think about how visitors will go from a general page
(your root page) to a page containing more specific content. On regular pages and
posts, Do your mathematical analysis - the primary resources
are there for the taking. Its as easy as KS2 Maths
or ABC. Its that simple! Google will most probably grab a piece of related content, including the keyword used in the search query. That makes a lot of sense for news sites, for example. Still, I recommend adding a meta description to all your important pages. Your website must be easy for visitors to use if you want them to stick around at all. That doesn’t mean there can’t be compelling and maybe even controversial content, only that it must be easy to find and access for the visitor who wants to see it. While different search engines use slightly
different algorithms, they all place importance on prominence, proximity,
and density, the three basic rules of keyword deployment.
The worst advice I've heard about meta tags
Perhaps one of the more common and well know practices for a website to be ranked in Google and other Search Engines. If you aren’t seeing
a positive ROI after a month or two, try changing tactics and/or improve your methods until you start seeing positive momentum. Not all SEO efforts are obvious to the outside eye. While changing the URL and metadata for your content isn’t exactly using social to win at SEO, to us it’s all the same process. That’s because within our CMS we’ve created tools that set up SEO right from the Entry Editor — before the content is even published.
Make sure that Googlebot and other web crawlers can index your pages in the correct way
SEO can be a frustrating activity. Yesterday your website was on the first page of Google. You were delighted. Flushed with your SEO prowess, you performed the same search today and found your site was on page two – what went wrong? Has your website been pawed to pieces by a panda or pecked full of holes by a penguin? ‘Mobile indexing first’ means that Google will look at the mobile version of your site to decide how high you should rank. Once you’ve discovered your evangelists,
think about ways to nurture and encourage them. At the simplest
(and possibly most meaningful) level, find a way to thank them
for spreading the word about your company. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant
: "Although bounce rate is hard to measure you should definitely monitor the trend of your bounce rate and the differences in bounce rate between your pages. If a specific page has a very high bounce rate, you should try to figure out what’s the cause. You could add links to other useful pages or call to actions to keep people on your site."
Audit your profile, looking for issues with regards to site submissions
The best directories are the ones that also provide useful information for your potential customers. If you are not
currently tracking your website, you should implement those two programs right away. Users on your site should be able to navigate from a general page (like the homepage) to pages focused on specific content. Add text-based links between pages to make it simple and easy to go from one page to another. Backlinks are an important part of SEO as they can promote your website. Linking to other websites helps to increase your popularity, reputation and most importantly your Google search ranking. While many backlinks can be useful, some prove to be detrimental to your SEO strategy and leave you out of favour with search engines.
